Redline Heavy Wall Gauge Glass has a red line between two white lines to make it easier to read the liquid level. Redline gauge glass tube is widely used in tanks and reservoirs to boilers and flowmeters. A wide range of lengths, diameters, end finishes and pressure rating from 90 to 600 PSI means we will always have the right gage glass for your challenge.

Redline Heavy Wall Gauge Glass, a vital feature of many industrial and mechanical processes, stand out as quintessential instruments designed to provide a clear indication of the liquid level within tanks, boilers, or reservoirs. These essential tools are meticulously crafted to ensure precision and durability, often fashioned from robust materials resistant to both high pressure and temperature fluctuations. By offering a direct visual representation of fluid dynamics in real-time, gauge glasses play a critical role in maintaining operational safety and efficiency. Not only do they enable personnel to perform accurate level measurements at a glance, but they also contribute to the preemptive identification of potential system imbalances and hazards. Whether utilized in petrochemical plants, pharmaceutical production, or steam systems, the Redline Heavy Wall Gauge Glass remains an indispensable asset, underpinning the reliable management of industrial fluids

  • How are Redline Heavy Wall Gauge Glass crafted to withstand high pressure and temperature fluctuations?
  1. Material Choice: Most gauge glasses are made from borosilicate glass, renowned for its exceptional thermal and chemical resistance. This type of glass can endure sudden temperature changes and high pressures without cracking or breaking. For extremely high-pressure environments, quartz or sapphire glass may be used due to their even greater strength and resilience.
  2. Tempering or Annealing: The glass used in gauge glasses often undergoes a tempering or annealing process. This heat treatment procedure enhances the glass’s durability by relieving internal stresses. Tempered glass, in particular, is much stronger than standard glass and, when broken, shatters into blunt, granular chunks instead of sharp shards, reducing the risk of injury.
  3. Protective Housing: Gauge glasses are encased in protective housings, usually made from strong metals such as stainless steel or brass. These housings not only support and protect the glass from mechanical impacts but also contribute to the assembly’s overall ability to withstand high pressure and adverse chemical environments.
  4. Gaskets and Seals: To prevent leaks and safeguard against pressure fluctuations, gauge glasses are fitted with high-quality gaskets and seals. These components are made from materials like Teflon, viton, or graphite, chosen for their ability to resist extreme temperatures and corrosive substances while maintaining a tight seal.
  • What are the benefits of using borosilicate glass for gauge glasses?
Borosilicate glass is a favored material for gauge glasses due to its unique properties that offer several benefits in industrial and mechanical applications:

    1. High Strength: Compared to ordinary soda-lime glass, borosilicate glass is significantly stronger and more scratch-resistant. This increased strength contributes to the gauge glass’s longevity, even in harsh environments.
    2. Transparency: Borosilicate glass maintains excellent transparency over time, which is critical for accurate monitoring of liquid levels within tanks and boilers. Clarity is also essential for detecting any impurities or changes in the fluid’s condition.
    3. Safety: In the event of breakage, borosilicate glass tends to crack in larger pieces rather than shattering into sharp shards, making it a safer option than regular glass for industrial applications.
    4. Non-Reactive: It does not react with most substances and does not impart any flavors or contaminants, which is crucial in applications where purity is important, such as in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
    5. Temperature Range: Borosilicate glass can withstand a wide range of temperatures, allowing it to be used in applications with steam or hot fluids where ordinary glass would not be appropriate.
    6. Chemical Durability: It is highly resistant to chemical corrosion, which is essential for gauge glasses that may come into contact with a variety of substances including strong acids, alkalis, and salts.

Due to these advantages, borosilicate glass gauge glasses are highly reliable and effective in maintaining operational safety and efficiency, while also prolonging service life and reducing maintenance and replacement costs.Thermal Resistance: Borosilicate glass has a very low thermal expansion coefficient. This means it can endure significant temperature changes without altering its shape or strength, reducing the risk of thermal shock and breakage when exposed to hot or cold fluids.
