Please use care when placing ice into the glass to avoid fracturing the inner layer. We suggest placing the liquid first and then the ice. Please also avoid using metal spoons or placing the glass into a crowded dishwasher. These glasses will help to keep hot drinks warmer and cool drinks cooler. - Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drink ware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching.
- Note: You will find a small air-hole (blown hole) on the bottom of this double wall glass product, this is not a flaw but a safety means to control air pressure between walls. Normal circumstances, no dish washer, simply rinse with hot water. Clean the bottom gently, avoid brush, otherwise, there might be some water trapped inside the hole and fog up between the two walls.
