What is Borosilicate Glass? and why it’s safe as glass teaware?
Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with the main glass-forming constituents’ silica and boron oxide. It’s known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (∼5 × 10−6/ °C at 20 °C) making them resistant to thermal shock more so than any other common glass.

The advantages of borosilicate include its durability, chemical resistance, and thermal stability, while the limitations and disadvantages include its brittleness and higher cost compared to other types of glass.
Borosilicate glass is lead and BPA-free, making it perfectly safe for use as drinking glassware. It’s is actually safer than tempered soda-lime glass, which is what many companies currently use to make kitchenware.
